SOTM provides low-fee counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups.

Individual Therapy - is one-to-one discussion for the purpose of providing support, assisting the client in coping with life stress and in learning to change their behavior and feelings.

Group Therapy - is based on the belief that individuals with similar difficulties can share concerns and be supportive of each other; this support often facilitates change.

Counseling Goals: The primary goals of the SOTM Counseling Program are:

We also serve as a training center for interns who are working toward licenses in social work, MFT or just in need of more hands on training. Services are provided by interns and trained peer counselors.

An intake interview is required before assignment is made to a counselor.

SOTM is a 501(c) 3 organization and is supported by client fees, grants, funds raised by special events, and direct donations and bequests. For more information about supporting our efforts, please see the donation section on this site.

Pre-Appointment Forms

We would like for you to complete Pre-Appointment Forms before your actual appointment. This provides us with some background information about you that will allow us more time during our initial session to get to know you and how to best provide you with support.

There are several options about how to accomplish this:

The Pre-Appointment Forms include the following:

24-hour cancellation of an appointment is desired.

SLIDING FEE SCALE

To keep our services and programs affordable, SOTM utilizes a sliding fee scale based on clients' family income and family size. SOTM charges a reasonable fee that the individual or family is able to pay. The fee is set up during the phone assessment. All fees are due prior to the start of each session unless other payment arrangements have been approved in advance.  No one is turned away due to lack of funds. Our fee scale, which reflects our underlying approach to this organization, is designed to enable individuals at all income levels to afford counseling services.
